Why Vokx
A 50-minute lecture cut off at 30. A recording that shows zero seconds because the phone “optimised” the battery. A Hindi meeting turned into nonsense. A price built for dollars, not rupees.
We built Vokx around one idea: if you pressed record, you should get your notes. Everything else comes after that.
If your phone crashes, the battery dies or the app is closed, you keep everything up to the last few seconds.
Every segment is checked and backed up as you record. You can see what's safe, so you never have to wonder.
No 30-minute wall, no 90-minute cut-off. Record the whole class, the whole workshop, the whole client visit.
How it works
No bots joining your calls, no setup, no file management. Just press record.
STEP 01
Tap once on your phone for a meeting in the room. For Zoom, Meet or Teams, Vokx's meeting bot can join the call for you.
STEP 02
Audio is saved in small segments and uploads on its own, even on patchy networks. Offline? It waits and uploads when you're back.
STEP 03
Minutes later you have a full transcript with speaker names, and a summary with the decisions and who owes what. On your phone and the web.
Features
From the first word to the follow-up, Vokx does the writing.
Every line is real, searchable text, timestamped and labelled by speaker. Not a gist, every word.
The key points, the decisions made and the action items, pulled from what was actually said.
Every voice gets its own label, and in online meetings Vokx uses the participants' real names.
Vokx joins your Zoom, Google Meet or Microsoft Teams call, records it and writes it up, so you can just talk.
Connect Google or Microsoft calendar. Vokx knows your meetings, reminds you, and can add the notes to the event.
The transcript follows playback line by line. Tap any timestamp to jump straight to that moment.
Search your recordings and find any word inside a transcript. That quote from last month is seconds away.
Record on web or phone, read on any screen. Rename or delete in one place and it's updated everywhere.
Summary
The client wants to move 40% of orders to the new supplier portal by March, provided invoices sync with their existing accounting system. Pricing was accepted; delivery terms need a second call.

If the invoices sync automatically, does forty percent by March work for you?
12:11Client
Forty is fine. What worries me is the accounting side, not the portal.
12:19Anita
I'll send the integration spec on Friday so your team can check it.
12:26Client
Good. Then let's pilot with two stores in January.
Languages
Most notetakers only really work in English. Vokx transcribes 13 Indian languages and 25 more, and writes the summary in English or an Indian language, with a translation a tap away so the whole team can read it.
Hinglish and mixed-language speech, too

Who it's for
Students
Record the full lecture, then revise from a clean transcript and summary instead of half-finished notes.
Sales & field teams
Walk out of a client visit with the requirements, objections and next steps already written up.
Founders & consultants
Send the bot to your calls and stop typing while people talk. Vokx captures the decisions and who owns them.
Journalists & researchers
Interviews transcribed word for word with timestamps, so every quote can be checked against the audio.

Security
Your recordings are encrypted on your device, in transit and in storage, and walled off inside your account. Identity numbers are masked. And we tell you exactly where AI processing happens.
Audio is sealed (encrypted) on your phone or browser before it is uploaded.
Encrypted upload →
Stored encrypted with AES-256-GCM on servers in India. Our staff tools don't show it.
Sent to the AI provider →
Third-party speech and AI services transcribe and summarise it. Some are outside India and keep data under their own terms.
Identifiers masked first →
Your transcript and summary open in your account, and for the people you choose to share with.
Shared only as you choose
Audio is sealed on the device before upload, and every connection, including to the database, uses TLS.
Recordings, transcripts, summaries and personal details are encrypted with AES-256-GCM before they are stored.
Identity and financial numbers read out are masked before a transcript is stored or sent to an AI model. Aadhaar and card numbers always are.
Every request is checked against the signed-in account and organisation. Someone else's recording doesn't just refuse to open; to anyone else it doesn't exist.
No tool we've built, including our admin panel, shows your recordings, transcripts or summaries.
Passwords hashed with Argon2id, sign-in tokens that rotate, and a replayed token treated as theft. Organisations can require single sign-on.
Audio is reachable only through signed links that stop working automatically. Share links expire after 30 days unless you choose otherwise, and can be revoked at any time.
On Enterprise, an organisation can keep AI processing in India; features that would need another provider are switched off for it.
The straight answer
You, and the people you share with. Other users can’t, and no tool we’ve built lets Vokx staff open them. In an organisation, its admins can see members’ recordings only if the organisation turns that on, and members are told when it is.
To transcribe and summarise, your audio and text are sent to third-party speech and large language model providers, named in our Privacy Policy. Depending on the provider and model in use, that processing, and any copies the provider keeps under its own terms, may be outside India. We don’t control those providers’ systems, so Vokx is not “end-to-end encrypted” and we don’t claim their processing is secure. That’s why identity numbers are masked before anything reaches them.
What we will never do
Found a vulnerability?
We take every report seriously. Write to security@vokx.app and we’ll respond within 72 hours. Please give us a chance to fix it before sharing it publicly.
Privacy
You're trusting us with what's said in the room. Here's exactly how we treat it.
We don't sell your data and we don't show ads. Our only business is the subscription you choose to pay for.
We don't use your audio, transcripts or summaries to train AI models. The AI providers that process them do so under their own terms, named in our Privacy Policy.
We never touch your contacts, location or photos. The microphone is used only while you record, and your calendar only if you connect it.
Delete a recording and it disappears at once, and is purged from our systems within 7 days; your account too. Backup copies go when those backups expire.
Vokx asks you to confirm everyone knows they're being recorded, and the meeting bot joins calls visibly, by name. We never build or market covert recording.
Clear notice, consent you can withdraw as easily as you gave it, data export, nominees and a grievance officer, all inside the app.
Our promises
Notetakers break trust in predictable ways: lost recordings, surprise limits, confusing bills and vague privacy terms. These are written into how Vokx works.
Building in the open
What we build next is shaped by what people actually ask for. Write to us at team@vokx.tech, and a real person will reply.
FAQ
Vokx is an AI notetaker for lectures, meetings, client visits and interviews. Record in the room with one tap on your phone, or let the Vokx meeting bot join your Zoom, Meet or Teams call. You get a speaker-labelled transcript and a summary with the key points, decisions and action items.
Yes. The Free plan includes 3 hours of recording a month, with no card needed. Paid plans for individuals start at ₹499 a month. Organisations can try Vokx free for 14 days. You can cancel any time; a paid plan runs to the end of the period you have paid for.
Up to 12 hours in a single recording, enough for a full lecture or workshop. Your plan sets how many hours you can record each month, phone recordings and meeting-bot calls together.
Yes. Vokx's meeting bot joins Zoom, Google Meet and Microsoft Teams calls, visibly and by name, records them and gives you the same transcript and summary. Connect Google or Microsoft calendar and it knows when your meetings are. Your plan sets how many bot meetings you get.
38 languages, including 13 Indian languages: Hindi, Marathi, Tamil, Telugu, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Punjabi, Urdu, Assamese, Sindhi and Sanskrit, plus English and most major world languages, including conversations that mix them, like Hinglish.
Yes. Vokx keeps recording with the screen off and saves audio in small segments as it goes. If you lose signal, the recording continues and uploads automatically when you're back online. If the app is closed unexpectedly, everything recorded up to that moment is kept.
On the web, payments go through Razorpay, so you can pay with UPI or a card; Vokx never sees or stores your card details. In the phone app you can also buy through Google Play or the App Store. Cancel anytime with no fee: a paid plan keeps working to the end of the period you've paid for. If a plan isn't right for you, ask within 7 days of your first payment for it and we refund it in full; charges made in error are always refunded. The Refund Policy below has the details.
Laws differ by place, and many require everyone in the conversation to agree. Vokx asks you to confirm consent before recording. We strongly recommend always telling people when you record, and we never design or market Vokx for secret recording.
No tool we've built, including our own admin panel, lets Vokx staff open, play or read your recordings, transcripts or summaries. Your data is encrypted in transit and at rest, and every request is checked against your account. In an organisation, its admins can see members' recordings only if the organisation turns that on, and members are told.
No, and we want to be upfront about it. To transcribe and summarise, your audio and text are processed by our servers and by third-party speech and AI providers, named in our Privacy Policy. Some of them are outside India and keep data for a time under their own terms, which we don't control. Connections and storage are encrypted, and identity numbers are masked before anything reaches an AI model.
Vokx doesn't use your recordings, transcripts or summaries to train AI models. The speech and AI providers that process them do so under their own terms, which decide what they may keep; we name them in our Privacy Policy so you can read those terms.
Delete any recording from the app or the web, and it disappears at once; it is purged from our systems within 7 days. To delete your account, go to Settings: you'll be signed out on every device, and everything is erased within 7 days. Backup copies are removed when those backups expire, and payment records are kept as tax law requires.
Vokx finds identity and financial numbers read out in a recording and masks them before the transcript is stored or sent to an AI model. Aadhaar and card numbers, OTPs, PINs and passwords are always masked. PAN, phone and other ID numbers are kept only if you choose to keep them in Privacy & data, and in an organisation only if its admin also allows it. Detection is automatic and can miss a number that is mis-heard, and the audio still contains what was said until you delete the recording.
